Joomla! Database Manipulation

A quick link to some very handy functions for meddling with databases in the Joomla! CMS:
Login to your front-end without creating a login page

Login to your website’s frontend quickly and easily, without having to create a custom menu item by using this nifty URL. Super-handy for previewing pages and menu items that are not viewable to ‘Public’.
Just drop it in at the root of your site (ie. http://mysite.co.nz/index.php?option=com_user&view=login) and you will have your login form. Just use your administrator username/password.
index.php?option=com_user&view=login
Extract your Akeeba Joomla! backup
27 September 2012
It took me a long time to figure out how to restore my Joomla! website from an Akeeba Backup file (.jre), but all you need to do is upload this file (kickstart.php) beside your .jre backup on your webserver, run the script (ie. http://yourdomain.co.nz/kickstart.php) and follow the instructions to completely restore your website (databases, assets, templates, everything!).
If you are unfamiliar with Akeeba Backup and you run a Joomla website, I highly recommend you get it: Akeeba Backup for Joomla
