There are a multitude of spam-protection methods, from the super-cryptic Google Captcha to discrete jQuery checkboxes. Not all are created equal, and there is much discussion about the balance between usability vs spam protection, but I've decided to collate some of my favorite methods.

Multiple Monitors with a Wacom Pen Tablet

If you're sporting a multi-screen setup then you know how frustrating it can be to track down your mouse cursor, especially if your monitors are of different resolutions. Make this worse by using a pen tablet, which effectively maps the whole two-screen space onto a small tablet. Now you can dedicate your pen tablet to one monitor, thanks to 'MoonRat'.

When building my first complex css-styled website, I toyed with z-index, not really knowing what I was doing.
Even in more recent times, z-index is a rule that can seem to make no sense – but alas, I stumbled across an invaluable resource to help layer your elements properly. And for your convenience I have uploaded it for you to launch (it’s just an html page).

Instead of having to boot up Photoshop CS5 and create a blank document and then resize that, you can just use this handy utility I created that takes a width and height, and resizes it proportionately to whatever you wish!
